Welcome to WEHSA!
Better known as WEHSA, the Wakefield Elementary Home and School Association is your group of parent volunteers who come together to organize school events and fundraisers. We also serve as a discussion forum for parents on school related issues. Our objective is to enhance the school spirit and complete the circle between home, students and school. Learn more>>
Happy & Safe Summer from WEHSA
Another school year has come and gone. This one was very different. Who would have predicted a pandemic that would close our school? Fortunately, our community has faired well. Our school even reopened and we thank all the school staff and teachers for braving this challenge. Let's continue to stay safe over the summer so that we can come together to welcome a new school year in a more regular and festive manner.
Let's take a moment to look back at the many good things that did happen this year, such as the launch of our Roots of Empathy program which brought babies into the Grade 1 classrooms, and is being financed with the $9300 that was raised by the Course for Kindness Walk-a-thon. Let's remember the school field trips, the Terry Fox walk, Halloween, the Christmas sing-a-long, the Grade 6 Bake Sales, Christmas Wreaths, and the trips to Mr. E's. Let's congratulate our Grade 6 Class of 2020 and wish them the very best as they get ready for high school.
We do have much to be grateful for. This trying time has also retaught us many important values such as the importance of family, friendship, kindness, patience, resilience, perseverance, and hope. Let's not lose sight of these and continue to be safe and to watch over one another as Things Will Get Better.
